Advisors Excel Unveils Plans for New Headquarters and Reimagined Mall Entrances

Advisors Excel, a leading financial services marketing organization, has revealed its proposed exterior designs for a state-of-the-art headquarters at West Ridge Mall in Topeka. Renderings of the mall’s public access points were also shared. The announcement marks a pivotal update in the mall’s ongoing transformation into a revitalized hub for business and retail.

Advisors Excel has partnered with Russell Glen, a Dallas-based real estate development firm, to guide the redevelopment’s master plan and attract new tenants. Architectural firms RDC and Hufft are behind the creative vision for the mall’s renovation.

“We are actively conversing with several companies, including retailers, grocery, and restaurants, about opening new locations at West Ridge Mall,” said Terrence Maiden, Chief Executive Officer of Russell Glen. “The interest in the project is very encouraging, which I think is driven by our plans for the redevelopment and the number of employees Advisors Excel will have working on the campus. The stores we are in talks with are very well-known and should generate a lot of excitement for the Topeka community.”

JC Penney has announced the closing of approximately 120 stores in 2025, including the Topeka store. Advisors Excel has negotiated the purchase of the building and will utilize the space, which will include Advisors Excel office space on the second floor and a mixture of restaurants and retail on the first floor. JC Penney has not announced its closing date.

The revamped West Ridge Mall will feature redesigned entrances, new outdoor spaces for all ages, and a modernized outside façade. These elements aim to create a welcoming environment blending shopping, dining, and entertainment with Advisors Excel’s corporate expansion.

“We are excited for the possibilities the future holds with the mall transformation,” said Cody Foster, Co-Founder of Advisors Excel. “When the project is complete, and all the Advisors Excel staff have relocated to the mall, there will be a real buzz for retailers. We will have over 1,000 employees walking through the mall daily, utilizing all the goods and services. I think it will positively impact the tenants' bottom line.”

Hufft and RDC architects are finalizing designs to ensure the project brings lasting value to the local community. The redevelopment aligns with Advisors Excel’s ongoing commitment to boosting economic growth and providing a dynamic environment for businesses in Topeka and northeast Kansas.
