Older Adult Resource Fair: Free Event Offers Advice and Support for Seniors and Caregivers

Topeka has the highest percentage of older adults in Kansas, with nearly 1 in 5 people, or 19.4%, being 65 or older (Source). To prepare for a healthier, safer future, attend the Older Adult Resource Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Brewster Place, 1205 S.W. 29th St., 66611. Brewster Place will provide lunch.

Family caregivers and older adults can connect, learn, and empower themselves with knowledge, resources, and support, including:

• Safe Driving Practices: Get tips to stay safe on the road.
• CarFit Checks: Learn how small changes can make your car safer and more comfortable.
• Medication Safety: Know safe ways to use medication for older adults.
• Stroke Awareness: Learn who’s at risk for strokes and what signs to look for.
• End-of-Life Care: Get advice for discussing and planning for the future.
