Shawnee County Parks + Recreation are excited once again to recognize Capitol Federal® as a “title sponsor” for the 2025 Spirit of Kansas, an annual event that takes place July 4 at Lake Shawnee.
On Monday, May 5, at 9:00 AM, there will be a check presentation by Capitol Federal® to the Shawnee County Commissioners. The meeting will be at the Shawnee County Commission Office, 707 SE Quincy St. in Topeka. Those presenting the check include Capitol Federal® CEO John B. Dicus, Capitol Federal® Foundation President Tammy Dishman, and Shawnee County Parks + Recreation Director Tim Laurent. Capitol Federal has been the title sponsor for 23 years straight.

The Spirit of Kansas is a daylong event that ends with a spectacular fireworks display celebrating our great nation’s independence. The rest of the events that will take place during the day will be released sometime in June.
