Stormont Vail Health Announces February Walk with a Doc

Stormont Vail Health Announces February Walk with a Doc

Stormont Vail Health invites the Topeka community to its monthly Walk with a Doc program, which promotes health and wellness through casual outdoor exercise. This event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the east side of Lee Arena, Washburn University.

Show your heart some love during American Heart Month! Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S., but the good news is that simple activities, like walking, can help prevent it. That makes this month’s Walk with a Doc event a great chance to take charge of your health and learn how to protect your heart (and your loved ones')! Join Dr. Chen Hoe Chow, a cardiologist at the Stormont Vail Topeka Campus, for answers and suggestions on lowering your heart disease risk.

What to Expect

  • Wear red to show support and raise awareness about heart disease.

  • A friendly and invigorating walk suitable for all fitness levels.

  • The opportunity to ask questions and get expert insights from our featured doc.

  • A chance to meet and connect with like-minded individuals in your community.

  • A fun, supportive environment encouraging health and wellness.

The walk is free and open to everyone, no registration needed. Wear comfortable shoes, and bring your water bottle to stay hydrated! If the weather is too cold or rainy, we will move the walk inside Lee Arena. Regardless of if you’re a regular participant or joining for the first time, we can't wait to see you there!
