Topeka Chamber Releases Priorities For 2025 Legislative Session

The Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce (“The Chamber”) is pleased to announce its 2025 legislative agenda, which focuses on economic vitality, investment and enhancements to infrastructure, and pro-business priorities. The Chamber will focus on critical issues such as childcare, workforce development, housing, infrastructure, innovation, and healthcare, aiming to create a stronger, more prosperous Kansas for businesses and residents alike.

“The Topeka Chamber is committed to advocating for initiatives that will drive Shawnee County and the state of Kansas forward,” said Juliet Abdel, Chamber President. “Our efforts remain focused on creating an environment that cultivates economic opportunity for all.”

The Chamber’s legislative priorities fall into four major themes: Kansans Work, Kansans Connect, Kansans Are Fiscally Responsible, and Kansans Are In It Together. Under Kansans Work, The Chamber addresses elements of economic development that include childcare, workforce training and development, higher education, and housing. Kansans Connect features advocacy for critical infrastructure investments in the areas of transportation, broadband, innovation, entrepreneurship, aviation, and recreation.  

Through Kansans Are Fiscally Responsible, The Chamber supports reasonable tax policy that is competitive and encourages growth and investments. Finally, Kansans Are In It Together emphasizes supporting measures that contribute to the health and safety of businesses and workforce.  

“As our region’s voice for business, the Topeka Chamber is committed to making progress in these areas during this legislative session,” Abdel added.
