Topeka Ranked #5 For Economic Strength By Area Development, #11 Overall Leading Metro In United States
The Greater Topeka Partnership is thrilled to announce that Topeka has been ranked #5 for Economic Strength in Area Development’s 2024 Leading Metro Locations report. This prestigious ranking highlights Topeka’s sustained economic growth, long-term stability, and ability to support expansion across multiple sectors. Additionally, the Topeka Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) ranked #11 overall in the nation, solidifying its reputation as a thriving hub for business and innovation.
Topeka was the highest-ranked metropolitan area in Kansas and Missouri. Wichita (#66), Manhattan (#100), and Lawrence (#180) also featured in the overall rankings - the Kansas City metro ranked #225 overall. Additionally, Wichita (#78) and Manhattan (#84) appeared in the top 100 for economic strength. Lawrence ranked #119.
The 2024 report evaluated the 410 largest metro areas in the United States. The study emphasizes key factors driving economic health, including workforce availability, economic strength, and affordability. Area Development, a leading publication for site selectors, collaborated with Chmura Economics & Analytics to provide an in-depth analysis of cities excelling in these areas.
